A Dangerous Worker

This photo essay is dedicated to people who work in dangerous conditions to support their families. Looking at this worker standing high above the city, I am reminded of my father, who made a living as a driver. Whenever heavy snow fell, my family worried about his safety on the road.

Every dangerous job has a human story behind it. The worker in these photographs may be someone's friend, brother, son, husband, or father. Somewhere, a family is waiting and hoping for his safe return home.

These images are a small tribute to the courage and responsibility carried by ordinary working people every day.

아버지가 운전으로 우리를 먹여 살릴땐

하얗게 눈이 오면

사고가 날까봐 조마조마하며 어린 날을 보내곤 하였다.

설악산 한계령 구비구비길을 오르실 때는 사자밥을 먹는다고 하셨다.

너는 그래서 절대 운전을 하지 말라고 하셔서 나는 아직도 운전을 하지 않고 있다.

저분도 누군가를 위해 저런 위험을 감수하시는 것이고

누군에게는 친구이고  형이고 아들이고 연인이고 아버지일 저분과 

어디선가 조마조마 하면서 안전귀가를 바라는 가족을 생각해본다.
